CallReady

CallReady privacy policy

Effective 18 October 2026.

Summary

CallReady does not collect any data. The developer does not receive your calendar events, your microphone names, your settings or any usage data. Everything that CallReady uses stays on your Mac.

Calendar events

The Next call part uses Apple EventKit to read events from the calendars that you select in Settings. macOS asks you for calendar access the first time. On macOS 14 and later, macOS gives apps full calendar access to read events. CallReady uses this access only to read. It never creates, changes or deletes an event.

CallReady reads the title, start time, end time, URL, location and notes of today's and tomorrow's events. It uses the URL, location and notes only to find a Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Webex link. The event data stays on your Mac and is not sent anywhere.

You can stop calendar access at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars. The Microphone and Mute parts continue to work.

Microphone

CallReady does not record, listen to, store or analyze audio. It does not ask for microphone permission, because it never opens an audio stream.

CallReady uses Core Audio to read the list of input devices, to set the default input device, and to set the mute state or the input volume of the default input.

What CallReady stores on your Mac

CallReady stores your settings in its own App Sandbox container, for example your preferred and backup microphones, your shortcut, push-to-talk, the menu bar label, the selected calendars and your reminder choices. For a microphone without a mute control, it stores the last input volume, so that it can restore it when you unmute. It also stores a short list of recent microphone switches, so that you can see why the default input changed.

When you delete CallReady and its container, these files are removed.

Network

CallReady has no server and makes no network requests of its own. When you click Join, macOS opens the meeting link in your browser or meeting app. From that moment, the privacy policy of that browser or meeting service applies.

Notifications

If you turn on a call reminder or the mute reminder, CallReady asks for permission to show notifications. These are local macOS notifications. CallReady creates them on your Mac. They do not use a push service or any server. No meeting data leaves your Mac.

By default, the notification text is generic. The call reminder (5, 10 or 15 minutes before a call) says "Call in 10 minutes" and "Open CallReady to join it." The mute reminder (one minute before a call, only when you are muted) says "Call in 1 minute" and "You're muted. Press ⇧⌥M to unmute." Notifications never show the microphone name.

If you turn on Settings > Next call > Show meeting titles in notifications, the notification title is the meeting title. This setting is off by default, so a meeting title does not show on the screen of a Mac that nobody is using.

No analytics, ads or tracking

CallReady contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting service and no third-party SDKs. It has no account and no sign-in. It does not track you across apps or websites.

Children

CallReady collects no data from anyone, including children.
