Download CallReady for Mac
CallReady comes as a disk image straight from this site. It is signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so macOS can check it before it opens.
CallReady is free. If it saves you time, you can support it on GitHub Sponsors, PayPal or Buy Me a Coffee. Support adds no features. Every app stays free.

Install CallReady
- Open the CallReady disk image from your Downloads folder.
- In the window that opens, drag CallReady to the Applications folder.
- Eject the CallReady disk image. You can then delete the disk image file.
- Open CallReady from the Applications folder. The first time, macOS says that CallReady was downloaded from the internet and asks if you want to open it. Click Open.
- CallReady has no Dock icon. Its icon appears in the menu bar. The first time, the CallReady Settings window also opens so you can set it up.
Permissions CallReady asks for
- Calendars. CallReady asks only when you click Allow calendar access in the CallReady menu or in Settings. macOS then asks you to give CallReady full access to your calendars. Allow it to see your next call. CallReady only reads events. If you said no, open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Calendars and turn on CallReady.
- Microphone. CallReady does not ask for microphone access, and macOS shows no microphone prompt for it. CallReady never opens an audio stream. It changes only which microphone is the default input, its mute state and, for a microphone without a mute control, its input volume.
- Notifications. CallReady asks only when you turn on a call reminder or the mute reminder.
- Open at login. If you turn on Open CallReady at login, macOS can ask you to allow it in System Settings > General > Login Items.
- The mute shortcut needs no Accessibility or Input Monitoring access.
How updates work
CallReady does not check for updates and makes no network connections of its own. Each new version is listed on the updates page and on this page.
To update, choose Quit CallReady in the CallReady menu. Download the new disk image and drag CallReady to the Applications folder again. When macOS asks, click Replace.
CallReady keeps your settings in its own container on your Mac, not inside the app. Version 1.0.2 has its own bundle ID, so settings from version 1.0.1 and older do not carry over.
